When you keep up to date on regular maintenance, you can help to improve the longevity of your vehicle. The maintenance intervals can be found in the owner’s manual for your vehicle. Otherwise we can advise and recommend a schedule that the vehicle needs. If you are not sure what the oil change should be, there’s a third place that you can check. Usually there will be a sticker in the upper windshield of when the next oil change should be done. This can be based on the mileage or date, depending what comes first. Oil will lubricate the engine so the parts run smoothly. If the oil runs out, the moving parts can seize up and cause the engine to fail.

Tire Care

Having the tires rotated and aligned is also another important task. Doing so will help prolong the life of the tires on your vehicle. Rotating them will help them to wear more evenly, on both the inside and outside of the tire. If one tire is wearing down on tread quicker, an alignment or rotation can benefit it. Having the tires aligned will also help to keep the vehicle operating smoother. It will not have to work as hard to try and keep the wheels straight.

Wiper Inspections

Remember to change the windshield wipers when you start to notice issues. This can be from wipers streaking, or making noises as they go across the windshield. Windshield wipers can wear out quickly, even if they are not being used. In the winter you will need them to have the best visibility. The wipers need to clear away winter precipitation like snow, sleet, and frost. They will also need to clear off any road grime or anything that the passing vehicles spray up. If your vehicle has a rear wiper, make sure to check that as well.
