While on the road this Memorial Day weekend, make sure that your vehicle is in a safe and reliable condition. Bring the vehicle in for a bumper to bumper inspection. Doing so will allow us to inspect all the parts and components for the vehicle before driving. Always be aware if there are any odd noises or issues you notice with the vehicle. This should be looked at before it becomes a larger issue and more costly repair bill. Even if the issue does not seem like it would be a problem, it is always best to have it inspected to ensure everything is working.

Memorial Day Traffic

Since there will be more traffic during the holiday weekend, there are also some safety tips you should follow when driving. Always make sure to leave enough space between you and the vehicle in front of you. If they need to slam on the brakes, you will need enough time and space to adjust your driving as well. Be aware of the drivers around you. This is incase you need to change lanes quickly. Make sure to always use the rear view mirror, side mirrors, and also look over your shoulder in the blind spots.

Another tip is to make sure to leave in plenty of time as you drive to your destination. This will reduce the stress and frustration incase you encounter slow or stopped traffic. Now that construction on the roads have started, it would actually be rare if you did not come across some road construction. There may also be detours that would extend the length of the drive as well. It would be recommended to look online to see what the construction and detours are currently going on. Leaving ahead of schedule will also reduce the urge to speed. If the weather is less than ideal, you will also want to plan on leaving a little earlier as well.
